Parents as Teachers
Our Mission
Parents are their child’s first and most influential teachers. Accordingly, Parents As Teachers is committed to the development, promotion and evaluation of programs and public policies that provide family support and education through the earliest years of a child’s life.
Our Core Belief
Children are born to learn and learning begins with their parents. We believe parents are the experts of their own children. All parents deserve support in their parenting role. By providing information relevant to the child’s development, the windows of opportunity are stimulated for optimal learning.
Our Vision
For all children and their families that are entering kindergarten to be more confident and successful then their peers. They will require less remediation and retention rates then children in the same socio-economic group.
Our Goals

- Increase parents’ competence and confidence in giving the child the best possible start in life.
- Increase parents’ knowledge of child development and appropriate ways to stimulate learning.
- Promote a strong parent-child relationship.
